Position: Year 1 Teacher
Location: SK1, Stockport
Salary: £167 – 233 per day
Contract Type: Medium-term, Full Time
We’re looking for an excited and wholehearted Year 1 Teacher to join our welcoming, well‑resourced partner primary school on a medium to long‑term basis. Year 1 Primary Teacher – Key Responsibilities:
• Create and deliver engaging, high‑quality lessons that bring the KS1 curriculum to life.
• Inspire children in core subjects—English, Maths and Science—supporting them to build strong early reading, writing and numeracy skills.
• Use ongoing assessment to understand where each child is in their learning and help them make steady, confident progress.
• Adapt your teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL or SEMH needs, ensuring every child feels included and supported.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team, including the SENCO, teaching assistants and SLT.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and wellbeing.
• Maintain clear and accurate records to support learning and development.
• Contribute to the wider school community by taking part in staff meetings, initiatives and optional extracurricular activities.

• A qualified teacher with QTS (or an equivalent recognised qualification).
• A good understanding of assessment and how it supports progress in KS1.

• Someone who fosters a warm, positive learning environment where pupils feel confident and motivated.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
