Year 1 Teacher – Primary Schools | Barnsley & Sheffield
Are you a passionate and nurturing Key Stage 1 teacher ready to make a real difference? We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join welcoming and supportive primary schools across Barnsley and Sheffield.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support pupils as they transition from EYFS into more structured learning.
The Role
As a Year 1 Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Build strong foundations in phonics, reading, writing, and maths.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.
- Use assessment to monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience within EYFS or Key Stage 1.
- Strong knowledge of phonics and early literacy development.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A caring and patient approach with high expectations for all learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
