SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full Time (Year 1)
Start Date: After May Half Term | Potential to Extend

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis, supporting a Year 1 pupil with additional needs from after May half term.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support, helping the pupil to access learning, develop social skills, and thrive within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 child with special educational needs
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Support emotional regulation and social development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
  • Monitor and record progress, contributing to reviews and planning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school-based experience preferred)
  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to inclusion and supporting all learners

Contract Details:

  • Full-time position
  • Start after May half term
  • Initially until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of extension

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
