Location: Cardiff (CF23 / CF5 / CF14)
Pay: £110 per day via PAYEE
Working Hours:
- Full-time: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:00
- Part-time: Flexible days available

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with an interest in education? We are currently recruiting full-time and part-time Welsh-speaking Unqualified Teachers to work in Welsh-medium secondary schools across Cardiff.
This role is ideal for:
- Recent graduates looking to gain classroom experience
- University students seeking flexible work around their studies
- Individuals considering a career in teaching or preparing for a PGCE
- Anyone passionate about supporting young people in Welsh-medium education

About the Role
As a Welsh-Speaking Unqualified Teacher, you will:
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and keep students engaged with their work
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
- Support students, including those with additional learning needs (ALN)
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensure a safe, organised learning environment
- Report any concerns or incidents to school leadership or department staff
What We’re Looking For
- Fluent Welsh speaker with strong communication skills in Welsh and English
- Confident managing groups of young people
- Adaptable and reliable across different school environments
- A positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for supporting students
- Understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
Requirements
- Passion for education and supporting young learners
- Strong communication, mentoring, or leadership skills (e.g., coaching, youth work, tutoring)
- Willingness to complete required training and safeguarding checks
- Enhanced DBS check (assistance provided)
- EWC registration (guidance available)
- Two recent references
- Ability to travel to schools across Cardiff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
