Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant Required
Location: Cowbridge
Hours: Full-time (08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday)
Pay: £90 – £110 per day, dependent on experience (paid weekly)
Start Date: April

Are you a confident Welsh speaker looking for a rewarding full-time role in a supportive primary school setting? We are currently working with a welcoming school in Cowbridge seeking a dedicated Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils in a Welsh-medium environment, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally. You will play a key role in the classroom, working closely with the teacher to deliver engaging lessons and provide targeted support where needed.

Whether you’re experienced in education or looking to build your classroom experience, this role offers valuable, hands-on opportunity within a positive and nurturing school community.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons through the Welsh language
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils
  • Assist with literacy and numeracy development
  • Prepare classroom materials and learning resources
  • Encourage positive behaviour and active participation
  • Support pupils’ confidence and overall wellbeing

What We’re Looking For:

  • Confident Welsh speaker (spoken and written)
  • Friendly, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative
  • Experience working with children (desirable but not essential)
  • Commitment to a full-time role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
