Pay: £93 per day (paid weekly)

Hours: Full-time, Part-time & Flexible Supply (Monday–Friday)

Welsh-Speaking Nursery Teaching Assistants – Help Give Children the Best Start

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker with a passion for supporting young children's development? Whether you're taking a gap year, looking to build experience in education, or starting a career working with children, we'd love to hear from you.

We are working with a number of welcoming Welsh-medium nurseries and early years settings across Cardiff that are looking for enthusiastic Welsh-speaking Nursery Teaching Assistants to join their teams. We offer full-time, part-time, and flexible opportunities to suit your availability.

This role is ideal for anyone considering a future career in early years education, primary teaching, childcare, speech and language therapy, educational psychology, or healthcare. You'll gain valuable hands-on experience supporting children during the most important stage of their learning and development.

The Role

As a Welsh-speaking Nursery Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced practitioners to support children aged 3–4 in a nurturing and stimulating environment. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting children's learning through play-based activities delivered through the medium of Welsh
  • Assisting with early literacy, numeracy, and language development
  • Encouraging children's social, emotional, and physical development
  • Promoting the Welsh language throughout daily routines and activities
  • Supporting children with personal care where required
  • Helping to prepare engaging learning environments and resources
  • Building positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Ensuring children's wellbeing and safety at all times

What We're Looking For

  • Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent communication skills
  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Passion for supporting young children's learning and development
  • Reliable and adaptable with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Previous childcare or nursery experience is welcomed but not essential
