Calling All Welsh Speakers! Join Our Team Supporting Schools Across RCT, Merthyr & Caerphilly!
Are you a fluent Welsh speaker looking to make a real impact in local schools? Whether you’re an experienced educator, newly qualified, or just starting your journey in education — Teaching Personnel wants to hear from you!
We are expanding our team of Welsh‑speaking staff to support a wide range of Primary, Secondary and SEN schools across Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil and Caerphilly.
Roles Available
We are recruiting enthusiastic Welsh speakers for:
✅ Welsh‑speaking Teaching Assistants (qualified & unqualified)
✅ Welsh‑medium Teachers (Primary & Secondary)
✅ Cover Supervisors
✅ SEN / ALN Support Staff
Locations
- Rhondda Cynon Taff
- Merthyr Tydfil
- Caerphilly
Start Date: ASAP
Contracts: Full‑time, Part‑time & Flexible
Pay: Competitive, depending on role & experience

What You’ll Be Doing
Depending on your role, your day may include:
- Supporting pupils’ learning through Welsh across the curriculum
- Assisting teachers in delivering fun, engaging lessons
- Leading classes as a Cover Supervisor or Welsh‑medium Teacher
- Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs
- Creating a positive, Welsh‑rich classroom environment
- Working closely with teachers, ALNCo’s and support staff
Who We’re Looking For
We want individuals who are:
✅ Fluent Welsh speakers (spoken & written)
✅ Passionate about Welsh‑medium education
✅ Reliable, enthusiastic and flexible
✅ Confident working with children
✅ Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
✅ Teachers (QTS), TAs or those ready to start their first school role
No school experience?
No problem — we offer full training and support.
✅ Requirements (Support Provided Where Needed)
- EWC Registration
- Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
- Two recent references
- UK Right to Work
- Full driving licence (advantageous but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
