  • Lead whole-class instruction, manage classroom behavior effectively, and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Adapt and differentiate learning activities to support all abilities within a mainstream classroom, including children with diverse learning styles.
  • Set high expectations for pupils' behavior, establishing a purposeful and safe working atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parallel class teachers, and key stage leaders.
  • Mark pupils' work, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to formal assessment and progress tracking.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, or tutoring environment (highly desirable).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills to manage a lively classroom and build rapport with parents and staff.
  • Attributes: High energy, patience, resilience, and a creative approach to engaging young learners.
  • Requirements: A total commitment to child safeguarding and inclusion, and the ability to travel to schools across Watford and Hemel Hempstead.

What We Offer

  • A structured, hands-on pathway into mainstream primary teaching, including potential support towards gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Ongoing professional development, curriculum training, and lesson-planning workshops.
