Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Maths, English or Science)

Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham
Pay: From £25 per hour
Job Type: Part-time / Flexible

The Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will work directly with students to deliver lessons designed to meet their individual learning needs. You will help students build confidence, strengthen subject understanding, and support them in reaching their academic goals.

Location:
Tutoring may take place in person at learners’ homes, schools, or local libraries in Sutton Coldfield, depending on the learner’s needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs

  • Support students with Maths, English, or Science (GCSE level)

  • Identify areas for improvement and create personalised lesson plans

  • Encourage confidence, motivation, and effective study habits

  • Provide feedback on student progress when required

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience in the UK

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, or Science

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
