We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated tutors to make a positive impact on the lives of looked after children.

Overview: As an LAC Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of children in the care system. You will work with children of various ages and academic levels, providing one-on-one tutoring sessions to help them excel academically. Your goal will be to foster a love for learning, boost their confidence, and ensure that they have the educational support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one sessions to children in foster care.
• Create personalised learning plans based on each child's educational needs and goals.
• Monitor and track the progress of each child and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and caregivers to ensure a cohesive support    system for each child.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement to help children overcome educational barriers.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.

You will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status, a Certificate in Education or extensive classroom experience
• Experience working with children in foster care, or with SEN or SEMH.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
• Ability to adapt tutoring strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
• Knowledge of the UK educational system and curriculum.

Additional information:

• This is a part-time position with flexible hours up to 25 hours per week
• Successful candidates will need to undergo background checks and provide references.
• Opportunities for CPD.
• Hourly rate of £25-£35 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
