Job description

Primary Tutor – Rochdale (OL11 / OL12 / OL16)

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Primary Tutors to support pupils across Rochdale (OL11 / OL12 / OL16). This is a rewarding opportunity to help children develop their confidence, close gaps in core subjects, and thrive in their learning outside of the classroom.

You will work 1:1 with pupils, many of whom may be out of mainstream school or require additional support due to SEND, SEMH, or gaps in education. Sessions are delivered face-to-face, either in the pupil’s home or a local community setting such as a library.

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering engaging and tailored tuition in English, Maths and Phonics

  • Supporting pupils of primary age with different abilities and learning needs

  • Encouraging confidence, motivation and resilience in learners

  • Adapting lessons to suit individual learning styles

  • Tracking progress and providing constructive feedback

We’re looking for tutors with:

  • Experience teaching or supporting children at primary level

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and English

  • A patient, flexible and engaging approach

  • An Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)

  • £25–£30 per hour (depending on experience)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
