Are you a qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a passion for supporting children and young people to reach their full educational potential?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is looking for dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Norfolk and the surrounding areas. Sessions may take place in pupils’ homes, schools or suitable community settings, primarily during school hours.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may require additional educational support, helping them build confidence, re-engage with learning and make meaningful academic progress.

Pay

Competitive pay depending on experience, qualifications, pupil needs and the tuition assignment.

Working Pattern

• Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities.
• Tuition delivered during school hours, Monday to Friday.
• Long-term and ongoing tuition assignments available.
• Travel between tuition locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition based on each pupil's individual needs.
• Plan and deliver lessons appropriate to the pupil's age, ability and learning objectives.
• Support pupils across subjects including English, Maths and other curriculum areas, depending on your subject specialism.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support different learning styles and abilities.
• Monitor pupil progress and complete session reports.
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, families and schools.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support pupils to work towards individual learning targets and EHCP outcomes where applicable.

Must-Have Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Have UK teaching experience.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
• Experience delivering personalised or differentiated learning.
• Excellent communication, behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or reliable travel arrangements.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

• Experience delivering 1:1 tuition.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, speech and language needs or other learning needs.
• Experience working in alternative provision, specialist settings or pupils' homes.
• Knowledge and understanding of EHCPs and individual learning plans.
• Experience supporting pupils who have become disengaged from mainstream education.

Location

This role is primarily based across Norfolk, with opportunities in areas including Norwich, King's Lynn, Great Yarmouth, Thetford, Dereham, North Walsham and surrounding areas, depending on pupil requirements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
