A secondary SEMH provision is looking for tutors to take on roles in September for students that are currently not able to learn within a school environment or are waiting for a placement within a specialist provision. The students have a variety of different needs, and so are not able to attend mainstream schools, however still need intervention within their homes.

With each student, you will plan lessons that are tailored to their needs and continue to build on knowledge that they have in an engaging and fun way. Due to the time you will spend with each student, you will build good relationships with each student. Each student will be covering different core subjects and will have EHCPs that you will work alongside to ensure the education that you are providing them matches what has been planned for them to progress.

For these roles, you should:

  • Have experience teaching multiple subjects at a secondary level
  • Have some experience tutoring or working 1:1 with students
  • Be able to plan and mark work, and be flexible with the work that you are providing students with to fit their needs
  • Have experience working with secondary aged students that may display some challenging behaviour
  • Be confident and able to guide focus of students that you are teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
