1:1 Tutor (In-Home / School Setting) – Dereham Area
Location: Dereham and surrounding areas
Hours: School hours (flexible within 8:30am–3:30pm)
Type: Part-time / Contract
Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in either their home or a school setting during school hours across the Dereham area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, working closely with pupils who require additional support to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and achieve their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 tutoring sessions tailored to individual learning needs
- Support core subjects such as English, Maths, and other curriculum areas as required
- Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of needs, including SEN where appropriate
- Track progress and provide feedback following sessions
- Work collaboratively with parents, schools, and other professionals
Requirements
- Teaching qualification (QTS) or a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience delivering the UK curriculum
- Experience working with children or young people (tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or support roles)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible, patient, and reliable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Background in education, youth work, or pastoral support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
