Job description

1:1 Tutor – Coventry Area

Location: Coventry and surrounding areas
Job Type: Part-time / Flexible / Term-time
Hours: Monday–Friday during school hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rates

We are seeking experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutors to support pupils in home and school settings across the Coventry area.

This role involves working with children and young people who may require additional educational support, including pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety, school exclusion, or gaps in learning. Tutors will deliver personalised sessions tailored to each pupil’s individual needs and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions
  • Support pupils in core subjects including English and Maths
  • Adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs
  • Build positive relationships and encourage pupil confidence
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of UK teaching or tutoring experience
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Experience with SEND/SEMH pupils desirable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
