Job description

1:1 Tutor – Cheetham Hill (M8)
Are you looking for a more personal and flexible way to support young learners? We’re currently looking for tutors in the Cheetham Hill area to provide one-to-one tuition to pupils who aren’t in mainstream school.

This role involves working with children who may be out of school due to anxiety, medical needs, or other challenges. Sessions take place in safe, quiet public spaces such as local libraries, offering a calm environment where pupils can feel comfortable and focused.

You’ll be working closely with one learner at a time, helping them catch up on core subjects like English and Maths and rebuild confidence in their education. Some pupils will be working below their expected level, so the ability to adapt and respond to individual needs is key.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified teacher or experienced tutor who wants to step away from the pressures of the classroom while continuing to make a meaningful impact. You’ll be able to manage your own diary, take on as much or as little work as suits you, and focus on building real, supportive relationships with the young people you teach.

Pay is between £25 and £30 per hour, with flexible hours available Monday to Friday during the school day. We offer ongoing support, weekly PAYE pay, and the chance to make a real difference in your local community.

If you’re based in or near Cheetham Hill and are ready for a rewarding new challenge, send over your CV – we’d love to chat.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
