1:1 Tutor – Birmingham Area

Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, during school hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Part-time / Flexible

About the Role

We are currently recruiting experienced and passionate 1:1 Tutors to support pupils across Birmingham and the surrounding areas. Tuition sessions will take place in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative education settings during school hours.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the educational journey of young people who require additional support to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, personalised 1:1 tuition sessions.
  • Support pupils in core subjects, including English and Maths, as well as other curriculum areas where appropriate.
  • Adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing regular feedback.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding and compliance procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK schools.
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience supporting pupils with varying abilities and learning needs.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel across Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, EHCP pupils, or those accessing alternative provision.
  • Previous tutoring experience.
  • Experience supporting pupils who are not currently accessing mainstream education.
  • Ability to teach across multiple key stages.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
