If you hold a degree and are looking to begin your journey into teaching, Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a range of welcoming primary schools across Wigan and Warrington that offer clear pathways into teacher training.
We are currently recruiting for September 2026 starts, giving aspiring primary teachers the chance to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in the classroom while preparing for future training opportunities.

The Role
As a Trainee Primary Teacher, you will work closely with experienced staff, gradually building the skills and confidence needed to progress into teacher training.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Supporting teaching and learning across Early Years, KS1, or KS2
- Delivering small group work and targeted interventions
- Assisting with phonics, literacy, and numeracy development
- Working alongside class teachers to support lesson delivery
- Leading parts of lessons as your confidence grows
- Supporting pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress
- Gaining insight into planning, assessment, and classroom routines
This role is designed to give you a strong foundation within a primary setting, preparing you for the next stage of your teaching career.

Many of our partner primary schools actively develop trainees into future teachers, often offering training placements and long-term opportunities within the same setting. This approach allows you to build experience, establish relationships, and transition smoothly into a qualified teaching role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
