Trainee PE Teacher – Outstanding Secondary School (Wigan)
Looking to Train as a Teacher?
Are you a Sports Science, Physical Education or related graduate looking to turn your passion for sport into a career in teaching?
We are working in partnership with an Outstanding secondary school in Wigan that is seeking an aspiring PE Teacher to join their team and begin their journey into teaching.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience while receiving support and guidance towards teacher training.
The Role
- Full-time position from September 2026
- Support pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 PE lessons
- Assist with extracurricular sports clubs and school fixtures
- Work alongside experienced teachers and school leaders
- Opportunity to progress onto a salaried or supported teacher training route
Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Sports Science, Physical Education or a related subject
- Passion for education and promoting healthy lifestyles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
- Committed to pursuing a career in teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
