Full-Time | Temporary to Permanent Opportunity
32.5 hours per week (8:30am – 3:30pm) | Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Pay: £14.25 per hour
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in St Mellons, Cardiff, who are looking to appoint three dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a school committed to high-quality teaching, continuous professional development, and a strong community ethos. The successful candidates will support pupils across the school, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting pupils in the classroom, both in groups and on a 1:1 basis
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
- Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Supporting children with additional learning needs where required
- Helping to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children (school-based or similar settings desirable)
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to school life
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience supporting pupils with ALN (Additional Learning Needs)
- Welsh language skills
- Relevant TA qualification or training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
