Location: Reading, Berkshire
Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students and help them thrive in their education!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN.

  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring accessibility for all students.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Support students with a variety of SEN, such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties.

  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to track student progress and adapt support strategies.

  • ✍️ Help implement individual education plans (IEPs).

Requirements:

  • ✅ Experience working with children, especially those with SEN, is preferred.

  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting students.

  • ️ Strong communication skills with students, parents, and staff.

  • Understanding of various SEN conditions and how to support students effectively.

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) is desirable.

  • ️ Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
