SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: MK42 Area, must be willing to travel
Job Type: Full-Time, long-term, permanent
Salary: 92.63- 120 per day
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment in the MK42 area. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND/SEMH needs.
- Support students with ASD, ADHD, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation support.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Support pupils with social interaction, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Assist with classroom preparation and learning activities.
- Maintain safeguarding and health & safety standards at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour is desirable.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to supporting learners.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within education.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Relevant qualifications or training in education/support work are advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
