Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools (South Sheffield & Chesterfield)

Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced and aspiring Teaching Assistants to work flexibly across primary schools in South Sheffield and Chesterfield. We are looking for individuals with a genuine commitment to supporting children’s academic, social, and emotional development within inclusive and nurturing learning environments.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support class teachers in the delivery of creative, engaging, and inclusive lessons.
- Provide targeted assistance to individuals and small groups, ensuring effective differentiation and personalised support.
- Contribute to the preparation and organisation of classroom resources and learning materials.
- Foster a positive and respectful learning atmosphere, promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCOs to support pupils with additional needs or barriers to learning.
Person Specification:
- Experience working with children within a school or similar educational setting (essential).
- A positive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils of all abilities.
- A willingness to adapt to different school environments and year groups.
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent experience (desirable).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with staff, pupils, and parents.
