Teaching Assistant (Part-Time) – KS1 Phonics Support
Location: Clitheroe
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Part-time (mornings or school-based timetable)
Role: KS1 Teaching Assistant – Phonics Intervention Support
Are you passionate about helping young learners build strong early literacy skills?
A warm and friendly primary school in Clitheroe is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to support KS1 pupils with targeted phonics sessions.
About the Role:
- Deliver small-group and 1:1 phonics intervention sessions
- Support pupils across Year 1 and Year 2 with reading and early literacy
- Follow the school’s chosen phonics scheme (training provided if needed)
- Work closely with the class teacher to track pupil progress
- Create a positive, encouraging learning environment
- Support general classroom routines when required
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting children in KS1 (school or tutoring experience accepted)
- Strong understanding of phonics and early reading development
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
- Reliability, commitment, and excellent communication skills
- Ability to build confidence in young learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
