Teaching Assistant - Secondary Schools
Teaching Personnel are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support a range of secondary schools across Tameside and nearby areas. These opportunities are ideal for recent graduates considering a career in education, as well as individuals looking to gain hands‑on classroom experience working with young people in a structured secondary school setting.
We work closely with schools located across Ashton‑under‑Lyne, Dukinfield, Stalybridge, Hyde, Audenshaw, Denton, Mossley, and surrounding areas. Our partner schools include large multi‑academy trusts, smaller community schools, and specialist provisions, all offering supportive environments where new Teaching Assistants can build confidence and develop essential classroom skills alongside experienced teachers and pastoral teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting pupils in lessons on a one‑to‑one basis or in small groups
- Assisting teachers with classroom management, routines, and lesson preparation
- Helping pupils stay focused, engaged, and on task throughout the school day
- Providing support to students with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Always following safeguarding procedures and school policies
Who We’re Looking For:
- Recent graduates from any degree background
- Individuals with an interest in education or teaching
- Confident communicators with a calm, reliable, and professional approach
- People willing to learn and work collaboratively within a secondary school team
- Any experience with young people (coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, clubs, etc.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
