Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a capable, energetic and enthusiastic level 2 teaching assistant who will relish the challenge of working in a large infant school in Kettering. 

The successful candidate will have recent, relevant experience of working with children from ages 4 to 7. The school believe that positive behaviour management plays a key role in the successful outcomes for children and this will be one of your strengths. 


What are the skills and qualities we need from a successful applicant?

  • An understanding of the KS1 curriculum and ideally experience in year 2
  • Maths and English GCSE at grades A-C (or recognised academic equivalent)
  • Good communication skills and clear handwriting in order to be a positive model for children
  • Excellent behaviour management skills with an emphasis on positive reinforcement - ideally you will be familiar with the principles of 123, Magic
  • A good grasp of phonics - you should be familiar with the Letters and Sounds scheme
  • Confidence to lead whole class sessions, either alone or alongside another adult
  • Willingness to get along with and support colleagues
  • Energy, creativity and enthusiasm 
  • Good physical fitness in order to cope with the rigours of supporting young children both indoors and out
  • The ability to take the ups and downs of school life in your stride - including dealing with the inevitable illnesses and toilet accidents that come with the job

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
