We are currently recruiting on behalf of an independent, BESD/SEMH Special School for boys with specific learning difficulties associated with learning delays or underachievement including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ASD, ADHD, OCD and mild auditory, visual and physical disabilities. 

They are a small but close-knit community who seek to provide an excellent education within a secure and caring environment, where every child can feel safe and is valued as an individual. Everything they do is centred upon recognising the particular special and individual needs of each pupil, helping him to overcome his difficulties and to achieve his full potential.

In this role, you will be supporting with education as well as social and emotional development. You will be supporting students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

To be considered for this role, it is essential you:

  • Have proven experience working in an educational setting or with children/adults that have special needs
  • Are active and enjoy spending time outside
  • Have a driving licence and access to a vehicle as the school is not easily accessed with public transport.
  • Are passionate, proactive and dedicated about improving the learning opportunities for children and young people
  • Have the ability to work with a range of children and young people with additional and complex needs
  • Are a team player who can build good working relationships with colleagues
  • Are flexible, enthusiastic and resilient, with a good sense of humour

The school is not easily accessed by public transport so it is essential you have access to a vehicle.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
