Teaching Assistant – Southampton
Start Date: February 2026
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work across a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools in Southampton and the surrounding areas. This flexible opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, value work-life balance and are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting (EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2).
- A relevant qualification or classroom-based experience (desirable but not essential).
- A patient, adaptable, and confident approach to supporting learning.
- Ability to assist with behaviour management and classroom routines.
- Confidence supporting pupils one-to-one or in small groups.
- A professional, reliable attitude with a strong commitment to safeguarding.
Your Role:
- Supporting the class teacher with lessons and daily classroom activities.
- Providing focused support to individual pupils or small groups.
- Assisting in the delivery of engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
- Helping to maintain a positive, safe, and supportive environment.
- Encouraging pupils’ progress, confidence, and independence.
- Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
