Teaching Assistant
Job description
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Salisbury is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team on a full-time basis from April 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a committed individual who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support to students, both in the classroom and through small group or 1:1 interventions.
The role may involve supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping to adapt learning materials, promoting engagement, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience desirable)

Be patient, proactive, and nurturing in their approach

Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Be confident supporting students with a range of abilities and needs

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
This position would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or a graduate considering a future career in teaching or education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
