Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are looking for Teaching Assistants and Support Staff to work within our Special Education Needs (SEN) Schools within the New Milton and Ringwood area.
We work with a number of specialist schools that cater for pupils with additional needs such as Autism (ASC), learning difficulties, global delay and also social, emotional and mental health settings that cater for pupils with ADHD and other challenging behaviour.
Experience is preferred but is not necessary. If you have transferable skills from roles such as care, support work, youth worker etc this could be the role for you. Likewise if you are from a sport or creative industry such as dance, drama, art etc as pupils in these settings learning through different routes to traditional schools.
We encourage applicants that are looking for full time, Monday – Friday roles as continuity for the children in SEN schools is vitally important. However there are part time and ad hoc roles available.
General duties and responsibilities will include:
- To support pupils both in and out of the classroom, 1 to 1 or in small groups.
- Plan and support a child and help them reach their potential in a professional and caring manner.
- Be reliable, punctual and respectful when working individually in the community or when part of a team and supporting colleagues to do their jobs
- Actively plan and join in play and youth activities including swimming, ball games, music and more
- Be prepared to communicate differently with a wide range of people
- Keep records and write reports when required
- Always ensure the highest level of safety and safeguarding

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
