Two Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant Vacancies
This specialist provision supports young people aged 11 to 16 with a range of SEN and SEMH needs, including anxiety, depression, attachment and detachment disorders, and barriers to learning linked to emotional vulnerability. The site is known for its therapeutic approach, calm environment and unwavering commitment to helping each student rebuild confidence and re-engage with education.
Although the primary focus is secondary-aged pupils, some primary-level work may be available for suitable applicants.
About the Roles
We are seeking two full-time Teaching Assistants to join this highly nurturing and supportive team. You will play a key role in helping students regulate emotions, access learning and develop resilience in a safe, structured setting.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and group support for students with SEN and SEMH needs

Assist teachers in delivering adapted learning activities
-
Implement strategies for emotional regulation and positive behaviour
-
Build trusting, therapeutic working relationships with young people
-
Support pupils experiencing anxiety, low mood and social difficulties
-
Help maintain a calm, safe and supportive classroom environment

Work collaboratively with teachers, mentors and pastoral staff
Essential Experience

A minimum of 6 months childcare experience, preferably within an SEN or SEMH environment

An understanding of supporting emotionally vulnerable learners
-
A calm, consistent and empathetic approach

Confidence managing challenging behaviours in a positive, restorative way

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
