Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs)
Location: Coventry
Salary: £90 to £100 a day
Contract Type: Full-Time or Flexible (Part-Time/Ad Hoc)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our special school in Coventry. This role involves supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with a variety of SEN, including autism, learning difficulties, and additional needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help with personal care where required
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or must be willing to apply for one)
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
