Salary: £22,996 - £25,068 per year (£12.87 - £14.03 per hour), dependent on experience and qualifications
Position: Permanent, Full-Time (Term Time Only)
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm
Additional Benefits: Plus £1,000 welcome bonus*

About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. No previous experience is necessary – if you have the right attitude, a genuine passion for supporting young people and a willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Our students are supported through personalised academic and vocational programmes that help them develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for adult life, employment or further study. Working together, we help build resilience, self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and positive futures.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment. You will build positive, professional relationships that place each student's wellbeing, development and success at the heart of everything you do.

Working alongside teachers and other professionals, you'll support learning both in the classroom and within the wider community. The role is varied and may include providing one-to-one support, working with small groups, or assisting across a range of lessons and activities. Positive behaviour support is an important part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students to develop their learning, confidence and independence.

  • Assist with the planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of learning programmes.

  • Contribute to assessing, recording and reporting on student progress.

  • Encourage independence and personal development at every opportunity.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times.

  • Promote positive social interaction, emotional regulation and appropriate behaviour.

About You

Previous experience is not essential. We're looking for people who are compassionate, patient and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

You will ideally have:

  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) qualifications in Maths and English.

  • A positive, creative and flexible approach to supporting young people.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
