Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide additional support to our wonderful students. As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported in their journey towards personal growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-on-one and group support to primary-aged students with behavioral challenges, helping them to develop positive coping strategies and social skills.
  2. Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to support their emotional well-being and academic progress.
  3. Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to implement behavior management strategies and support plans tailored to individual student needs.
  4. Plan and deliver engaging and interactive activities designed to promote social-emotional development, resilience, and self-esteem.
  5. Act as a positive role model for students, demonstrating empathy, patience, and respect in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children in a behavioral school or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with children and colleagues.
  • Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting children through challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their well-being and success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
