Full-Time | Permanent | November 2026 or January 2027 Start

Teaching Personnel is supporting a highly regarded and growing secondary school in Basingstoke with the appointment of a Teacher of Business Studies or Subject Leader of Business Studies.
Business Studies is one of the school’s most popular subjects, making this an exciting opportunity to join a thriving department and inspire students through relevant, purposeful and academically challenging learning.
The classroom-teacher position is suitable for ECTs, while the Subject Leader opportunity would suit an experienced practitioner ready to lead the subject or take their next step in middle leadership.

The Role
Depending on the level of appointment, you will:
- Deliver engaging Business Studies lessons
- Make business concepts relevant through contemporary examples
- Plan, assess and monitor student progress
- Maintain high expectations for learning and achievement
- Develop students’ commercial awareness and analytical skills
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement
- Work collaboratively through shared planning and reflective practice
- Support enrichment and opportunities beyond the classroom
The ability to teach IT, Computer Science or Economics at KS3 would be advantageous but is not essential.
Subject Leader Responsibilities
The Subject Leader will also:
- Provide clear direction for Business Studies
- Lead curriculum development and quality assurance
- Support and develop colleagues
- Monitor progress and intervention
- Promote consistently strong teaching and outcomes
- Raise the subject’s profile across the school
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Have strong Business Studies subject knowledge
- Deliver purposeful and engaging lessons
- Be ambitious for every student
- Use assessment effectively to improve outcomes
- Be reflective, innovative and willing to try new approaches
- Work positively within a collaborative team
- Be committed to safeguarding and professional development
