We are seeking to appoint a Sixth Form SEN Teacher to deliver a range of subjects to students with Special Education Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) starting in September. This lovely school homes children aged between the ages of 7-19 years old and is a positive and vibrant learning community that aims to develop academic abilities, confidence and independence. Set on over 20 acres they put a focus on outdoor education and the importance of the environment. Your main focus as a SEN Teacher will be to deliver a personalised curriculum at sixth form level, ensure students feel supported and challenged whilst understanding the needs of each individual child. Having good behaviour managment skills is key to ensuring staff and students are staying safe. Either ourselves or the school will provide you with alternative training to de-eculate and postiviely handle in dificult and sometimes distressing situations. 

About you

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Qualified Teacher with QTS
  • Passionate or an interest in SEN (Special Education Needs), Autism and Aspergers
  • Experience working within an SEN setting is desirable but not essential
  • Patience, enthusiasm and empathetic
  • TEAM TEACH, PBM, PRICE, NAPPI (or willing to be upskilled)
  • Knowledge of SEN is desirable but not essential 
  • Positive and proactive 
  • Great behaviour management
  • DBS on the update service (or willing to apply for one)

You will be required to teach a variety of ages and support each individual student to progress and feel confident in their learning. As a SEN Teacher you will positively contribute to the overall programme of learning and ensure you provide a stimulating learning environment for students. You should maintain high expectations and aspirations for all pupils and ensure a safe and secure classroom at all times.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
