About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a new and growing 11–16 secondary school, currently expanding year-on-year. Still in the early stages of development, the school offers a rare and exciting opportunity to join at a formative point and help shape its academic culture and ethos.

This role would suit an ambitious Teacher of Religious Education, Philosophy & Ethics who is passionate about humanities education and keen to contribute to the development of a strong, thoughtful, and intellectually curious learning environment.


The Role: Teacher of RE, Philosophy & Ethics

The school is seeking an enthusiastic, reflective, and knowledgeable teacher to deliver high‑quality RE, Philosophy, and Ethics education as part of a developing Humanities provision.

You will play a key role in building a curriculum that encourages critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and cultural understanding, while also helping to establish strong departmental foundations and expectations.


What You Will Do

  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality RE, Philosophy & Ethics lessons
  • Promote thoughtful discussion, critical analysis, and respectful debate
  • Maintain high expectations for pupil behaviour, engagement, and achievement
  • Use evidence‑informed and research‑based approaches to teaching
  • Contribute to the development of a coherent, ambitious Humanities curriculum
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners and support strong progress
  • Lead or contribute to subject or whole‑school initiatives with demonstrable impact
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to help build a positive departmental culture
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and enrichment opportunities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
