As a valued member of the English Department, you will deliver engaging, creative, and well‑structured lessons that foster a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking. You will play a key role in raising attainment, developing students’ confidence, and creating a positive classroom environment where every learner can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging English lessons across KS3–KS4
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to stretch and challenge learners
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing effective feedback
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum
  • Maintain excellent behaviour and strong classroom routines
  • Participate in department meetings, CPD, and whole‑school initiatives
  • Support students’ academic and personal development

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and/or Literature
  • A passion for inspiring young people and promoting a love of learning
  • High expectations for behaviour and student achievement
  • Ability to differentiate lessons effectively
  • A reflective practitioner committed to professional development
  • A positive team‑player with excellent communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
