Teacher of English

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in the Ipswich area. The Role

• Deliver engaging and well‑structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Inspire a love of reading, writing, and language through creative and inclusive teaching.
• Plan lessons that meet the needs of mixed‑ability classes and support all learners to progress.
• Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with departmental expectations.
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour within a calm and respectful learning environment.
• Work collaboratively within a supportive English department and wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS (or is an ECT with strong subject knowledge)
• Has a passion for English and the ability to motivate and inspire learners
• Demonstrates strong classroom‑management and communication skills
• Is committed to raising attainment and supporting student wellbeing
• Has, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS
