Job description
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a friendly and supportive secondary school in the Ipswich area. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a school that values high‑quality teaching, positive relationships, and ensuring every student is supported to achieve their potential.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and well‑structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Inspire a love of reading, writing, and language through creative and inclusive teaching.
- Plan lessons that meet the needs of mixed‑ability classes and support all learners to progress.
- Assess, track, and report on student progress in line with departmental expectations.
- Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour within a calm and respectful learning environment.
- Work collaboratively within a supportive English department and wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS (or is an ECT with strong subject knowledge)
- Has a passion for English and the ability to motivate and inspire learners
- Demonstrates strong classroom‑management and communication skills
- Is committed to raising attainment and supporting student wellbeing
- Has, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
