The English Department

English is a highly valued subject within the school and is delivered by a stable, collaborative and supportive team. The curriculum has been carefully designed to develop students' reading, writing, speaking and critical thinking skills through exposure to a rich and diverse range of texts. The Role

You will:

  • Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students
  • Support excellent progress for learners of all abilities
  • Create a positive and purposeful classroom environment
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards across the department

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for English

  • Has high expectations of behaviour, engagement and achievement
  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a supportive team
