Teacher (QTS) – Specialist Education Setting
Full Time | Dorset

We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking qualified teacher (QTS) to join a dedicated specialist education team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching and eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with additional needs. If you are interested in working within a rewarding and dynamic SEN environment, this could be the perfect opportunity.

You will be teaching small classes, supported by a Teaching Assistant, enabling you to provide a highly personalised approach to learning. Working as part of a collaborative and experienced team, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of needs, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About the Setting:
This is a specialist 38–52 week residential and day provision for children and young people aged 7–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Set within extensive countryside grounds, the setting provides a calm and engaging environment that supports both learning and wellbeing.

Facilities include a theatre, sports hall, swimming pool, climbing wall, indoor and outdoor riding arenas, and multiple safe outdoor spaces. Students follow a broad and balanced curriculum, tailored to meet individual needs, alongside access to a comprehensive programme of therapeutic and clinical support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the curriculum
  • Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of students with ASD
  • Follow schemes of work and contribute to medium-term planning
  • Take responsibility for a subject or curriculum area
  • Support the development of students’ academic, social, and life skills
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effectively manage and respond to complex behaviours

  • Holds QTS
  • Is organised and able to create a structured, supportive learning environment
  • Brings creativity, energy, and enthusiasm to the classroom
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships
  • Is keen to develop expertise in SEN and autism
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and committed to teamwork
