Supply Teaching Assistants

If this sounds like the perfect opportunity for you, don’t hesitate—apply today! Teaching Personnel is looking for enthusiastic and adaptable Teaching Assistants to provide flexible support across a variety of fantastic primary schools in the Tameside area.

Location: Tameside

Job Type: Day -to- Day Supply Teaching Assistants

Salary: £13.75- £14.50 per hour

Start date: February 2026

About the role:

  • Provide support to the class teacher throughout the day by monitoring and recording pupil progress and giving regular feedback, including for children with SEN.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and engaging activities in small groups or one-to-one sessions to reinforce learning and boost confidence.
  • Uphold the school’s ethos by consistently applying behaviour and safeguarding policies.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment where every child, regardless of ability or need, can reach their full potential.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Previous experience working with children in either a professional or personal capacity, ideally including exposure to SEMH or additional needs.
  • A relevant qualification, such as Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or a Teaching Assistant Certificate.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum across various Key Stages.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and resilient, with excellent communication skills and high expectations for all learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • A valid DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
