Job description

Day-to-Day Supply Teaching Assistant 

Rate: £90–£110/day
Contract: Day-to-day supply
Location: Crawley area (West Sussex)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with complex needs (SEN, ASC, SEMH)

  • Assist teachers in implementing individual behaviour plans and learning strategies

  • Support communication (verbal, visual, or Makaton/PECS)

  • Facilitate sensory regulation: support students through sensory breaks, help set up sensory environments

  • Contribute to planning and adapting resources to suit individual needs

  • Monitor, record, and report on student progress

  • Liaise with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

Requirements / Advantages:

  • Driving licence is highly advantageous (opens up more assignment opportunities), but local placements also available

  • Child-only Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to apply)

  • Experience in SEN or support settings preferred, but not mandatory

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
