Are you a recent English Graduate? Are you looking to start a career in education?

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a recent English Graduate to join one of our client Secondary Schools in Tameside as a Teaching Assistant. This is a great opportunity to gain confidence and experience working in a classroom until you become a qualified teacher. You will be supported by Teaching Personnel throughout your career, for successful candidates, there will be the opportunity to progress onto a permanent teaching position once you have become fully qualified.

This position will be full-time and will begin in September at the start of the academic year. The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 dependent on the requirements from the school.

For this position:

  • You must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check.
  • You must be able to provide at least two employment-based references, covering the last two years of employment.
  • You must have a safeguarding certificate or be willing to participate in Teaching Personnel’s training course.

This position will be highly important, currently this school is not performing well academically. 24% of this school’s student population achieve a grade 5 or higher in both Maths and English at GCSE, this is less than half that of the national average.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assisting the pupils who are struggling the most with their English, aiming to help them achieve good GCSE results.
  • Assist the teacher with the behaviour management of the pupils to create a safe and productive working environment.
  • Assisting the teacher in their delivery and preparation of lessons.
  • Monitoring the progression of pupils.
  • Working with students in small groups or on a one-to-one basis, so that you are best able to target the learning needs of the pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
