Student Support Coach | Specialist SEND School | Hailsham

The best support doesn't always happen inside the classroom.

A specialist SEND school in the Hailsham area is looking to recruit a Student Support Coach to work within its dedicated intervention provision.

This role focuses on supporting pupils who are finding it difficult to engage with classroom learning, helping them regulate emotions, rebuild confidence and successfully return to education.

You'll become a trusted adult for young people who need consistency, encouragement and somebody who believes in their potential.

Your Role

You'll work alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team to:

  • Support pupils experiencing barriers to learning
  • Encourage emotional regulation and resilience
  • Build confidence through positive relationships
  • Help pupils prepare for successful reintegration into lessons
  • Promote engagement, independence and personal growth

Experience within SEND, SEMH, education, youth work or care is beneficial, but mindset and attitude are equally important.

Practical Information

  • Full-time (Monday-Friday)
  • Hailsham area
  • September start
  • £92.60 per day
  • Child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service required

Applicants will also need to complete our standard safeguarding checks, including employment references covering a total of 24 months where possible, alongside a full employment and education history.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
