KS3 Student Support Assistant (SEN / Autism Focus)
Start: September 2026
Location: Cambridgeshire
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist education provider to recruit a Student Support Assistant to work with Key Stage 3 pupils.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and compassionate individual looking to support young people with autism and additional needs in a structured and nurturing educational setting.
The Role:
- Provide day-to-day support for students in both academic and pastoral areas
- Assist in delivering learning activities alongside teaching staff
- Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing, social development, and engagement
- Help prepare teaching materials and maintain a well-organised learning environment
- Supervise pupils during unstructured times such as breaks and lunchtimes
- Accompany students on educational visits and activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent and high-quality support
About the Setting:
This is a specialist provision supporting students with additional needs, including autism, with a strong focus on creating a calm, supportive, and inclusive environment.
The setting promotes a holistic approach to education, balancing academic learning with emotional and therapeutic support, ensuring pupils feel safe, understood, and empowered to succeed.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience supporting students within Key Stage 3
- Demonstrate a strong interest in supporting young people with autism or additional needs
- Be patient, adaptable, and resilient in their approach
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be confident building positive, consistent relationships with students
- Show a genuine commitment to supporting both learning and wellbeing
- Understand the importance of safeguarding and inclusive practice

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
