Sports Coach

A specialist provision in the Blackburn area is looking for a Sports Coach to join their fantastic team. This provision provides full-time education for pupils aged 11 to 16 years who have struggled to access the curriculum in a mainstream school.

Important information

  • Location: Blackburn and surrounding areas.
  • Start date: May 2024.
  • Contract type: Temp-perm / temporary.
  • Working hours: Full time (8:30am-3:30pm, Mon-Fri)
  • Pay rate: £12.90 - £15.25 p/h.

As a Sports Coach you will be required to deliver tailored sports sessions to small groups of pupils and in some cases, on a 1:1 basis. Responsibilities within this role will be a combination of general support duties as well as sports coaching. You must be experienced and confident in facing challenging behaviour and you will be required to implement relevant behaviour strategies, always maintaining a calm approach.

Requirements:

  • Have a Sports related background/qualification.
  • Experience/confidence with handling challenging behaviour.
  • A genuine passion for working with and supporting pupils with SEMH.
  • Able to remain calm in high pressure environments.
  • Ability to support pupils on a 1-1 basis as well as in small groups.
  • Develop communication and interaction, personal, social, emotional and academic skills.
  • Must be positive and solution focussed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
