SEND Teaching Assistant(s) Required

 

Location: Milton Keynes

Job Type: Full-time / Term Time Only

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Start: September 2026 or ASAP

We are seeking caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join a specialist School in Milton Keynes. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with a range of SEND, including autism, learning disabilities, and complex needs.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support in the classroom.
  • Assist with personal care, ensuring pupils are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
  • Support pupils during swimming and hydrotherapy sessions, following health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Encourage students' independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement individual learning and care plans.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding and school policies.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Patient, caring, and empathetic.
  • Comfortable providing personal care and supporting pupils during swimming activities.
  • A strong communicator with excellent teamwork skills.
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Experience providing personal care or willing to do so.
  • Experience supporting pupils during swimming or hydrotherapy sessions.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEND (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
