Specialist English Teacher

A Specialised Secondary School based in Central Hull are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join their thriving department from September for a permanent position.

As a Teacher of English at the School the successful Candidate would be responsible for English teaching at KS3 and 4, whilst supporting the pastoral support and care plans of SEMH students with varied needs.

As a teacher within the Schools English department you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons to mixed ability Students, and to contribute to the departments journey of continually improving results. You should be able to teach across the general science board, whilst being able to adjust your teaching levels to engage with pupils of different needs and ability.

The School are looking for a Teacher who is confident in using technology and different tools to enhance English lessons and who is able to drive enthusiasm in the subject through differing teaching methods and teaching practises.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of the future success of the department and the school more widely, and as a result will enjoy industry leading CPD and opportunities to up skill. You must align yourself to the School ethos focusing of Student and Staff well-being, and Student attainment. The successful Candidate must:

  • Be educated to at least Degree level, with Qualified Teacher Status or comparative Overseas Teacher Training
  • Have recent experience of UK curriculum and relevant exam boards
  • Be an inspiring educator, passionate about maths teaching, with the ability to enthuse others
  • Have proof of right to work in the UK, a UK/EU Passport or valid Biometric Residence Permit
