Full-Time | Monday to Friday, term-time only | 8:30 - 3:30

We are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Blackburn, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of young people who require additional support both academically and emotionally.
Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams, you will help students overcome barriers to learning, build positive relationships, and develop the confidence and life skills needed to achieve their potential.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom
- Building trusting and positive relationships with young people
- Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Supporting learning activities on a one-to-one and small group basis
- Encouraging engagement, attendance, and personal development
- Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to provide consistent support
Ideal Candidates May Have Experience In:
- Residential childcare
- Support work
- Youth work
- Mental health support
- Care work
- Sports coaching
- Psychology or education-related degrees
- Working with vulnerable children or young adults

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
